Lions of Bath HQ - The Lions Den - June-October
A giant pride of 100 individually decorated, life-size lion sculptures will be taking up residence in and around the World Heritage City of Bath this summer in a colourful, public art event to raise funds for local charities and bring a smile to the faces of residents and visitors alike.
Nearly one third of the pride has already been installed with more going out each day. The Lions HQ - 'The Lions Den' - is based at Milsom Place and offers gifts, memorablia and directions to the Lions locations.
The lion sculptures, sponsored by businesses, local communities and individuals, are being decorated by artists and craftspeople using their skill and imagination to produce eye-catching artworks from the beautiful to the bizarre.
The lions will remain on public display throughout the summer before returning to their den in September 2010 where they will be restored to their former glory in preparation for the 'Lions Roar Goodbye' event on 9th and 10th October. All 100 lions will be gathered together in one giant pride in front of Bath's world famous Royal Crescent for their fans to say their final farewells before the Lions of Bath 2010 charity auctions on October 15th and 17th October.
